New: Leonardo3.4.5 and Talent Fit supporting career guidance for young people

We are pleased to announce that a new version of Leonardo3.4.5, specifically adapted for teenagers and young people exploring their future career options, is now available.

This version is based on the Leonardo3.4.5 methodology, with a simplified questionnaire designed for people who have little or no professional experience. The report has also been adapted to make it easy for young people to understand.

One of the key objectives of this approach is to enable young people to develop their own awareness of who they are: to better understand their preferences, what motivates them, the environments in which they naturally feel comfortable, and the ways of working and behaving that suit them best.

Building on this greater self-awareness, Talent Fit then enables them to explore the occupations that are most closely aligned with their Leonardo3.4.5 profile. This can help them discover career paths they may not have considered spontaneously and understand why certain occupations or working environments may be a better fit for them.

The purpose of the matching process is therefore not to tell them “which career to choose”, but to help them progressively develop their own thinking:

Who am I? What suits me? What types of activities could I thrive in? Which occupations would be worth exploring?

This version can be used by Leonardo3.4.5 consultants and coaches, as well as by career guidance services, career counsellors, schools, educational institutions and anyone responsible for supporting young people in their education and career choices. It also provides an excellent basis for discussion between young people and their parents.

How to use the version for young people

The process is very simple:

1. Create the participant in Leonardo3.4.5 as usual.
2. When selecting the language, choose the version designed for young people:
   • Français – Adolescent
   • Deutsch – Jugendliche
   • English – Teenager
   • Italiano – Adolescente
3. The rest of the process is automatic.
   A specific message adapted to young people is automatically associated with the process, together with the corresponding questionnaire.
4. Once the questionnaire has been completed and the profile generated, select the Leonardo Adolescent profile in Talent Fit.
5. Talent Fit can then be used to perform the matching and explore the occupations that best correspond to the young person’s preferences.

Career reference lists directly available in Talent Fit

For Switzerland, two career reference lists are directly integrated into Talent Fit:

• Pathways after compulsory schooling: occupations and training programmes accessible after compulsory education, particularly within the Swiss vocational education and training system;
• Careers after higher education: occupations accessible after higher or tertiary education.

Career guidance professionals can therefore use these reference lists directly in Talent Fit to perform matching with the young person’s profile.

For use in other countries, users can import their own career reference framework, so that the suggested occupations reflect the education system, qualifications and labour-market realities of their country.

A tool to support young people, not to decide for them

Leonardo3.4.5 and Talent Fit therefore provide an approach that combines self-awareness with career exploration.

The aim is not to place young people into a predefined category or assign them a particular occupation, but to give them useful reference points so that they can become more aware of their own preferences, broaden their range of possibilities and take an active role in shaping their own future.

For professionals, it also provides a structured tool for enriching career guidance discussions, opening up new possibilities and encouraging dialogue with young people and those around them.
